Former Upper East Regional Minister and lecturer at the University of Winneba, Professor Avea Nsoh has told Hon. Muntaka Mubarak member of parliament for Asewase that he can tell his apology to the Marines.

He stated this on his Facebook wall when he expressed his view on an apology rendered by Hon. Muntaka Mubarak to the supreme court and the judiciary on 6th February 2021.

On the 10th, January 2021 Hon. Muntaka alleged on Joy News TV that a supreme court Judge tried to compromise an NDC female MP in the election of the speaker of parliament. According to Muntaka, the disclosure was based on a report from a trusted colleague which was that she had been approached by a Justice of the Supreme court seeking to entice her to vote for a particular candidate (prof. Mike Oquey) during the contest for the speakership of parliament.

Against the backdrop prof. Avea Nsoh has stated that Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, MP for Asawase can tell his apology to the Marines!!! And questioned in whose interest is such apology rendered when the case is yet to be investigated. He said “who are we protecting? the MP’s credibility? that of the judge? The Supreme Court? Parliament? the President who appointed that justice?”

He noted again that with a question that begs for an answer in the minds of Ghanaians after the allegation made by Hon. Muntaka, “now, my BIGGEST question to Honourable Muntaka Mubarak is: Is that Justice on the election Petition Panel? God bless our homeland Ghana!”

He concluded by saying “there are so many lie-detecting markers that betray the otherwise good-intentioned apology. A first-year language and linguistics student can easily detect these with very little difficulty even if was not taught Discourse Analysis. I will be back with the analysis of the apology”.
