MP urges government to resource Gomoa East police to fight crimes

Member of Parliament for the Gomoa East Constituency, Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, has called on the government to support the police service, particularly in Gomoa East, to help them combat the increasing crime in the area.

According to him, the rise of brazen crimes in the constituency requires resources to propel the police to execute their mandate professionally.

He noted that resourcing the police in the area with the necessary logistics and personnel will help tackle the crime menace, which has become a nightmare for the community.

Mr. Paitoo made the call on the floor of Parliament, stating that in fighting the menace in the constituency, the police ought to be resourced to help combat criminals.

“Gomoa Budumbram and Gomoa Dominanse District Police Command have no single vehicle that they use for patrol. And the area, especially Budumbram, like we see, is a densely populated area, and crime rates over there are quite high.”

“I want to hear from the minister if he has plans to provide at least one single vehicle for this command to help their operations,” he stressed.

He added that if there are more divisional commands in Gomoa East, there will be an increase in personnel who will work assiduously to curb the rampant crime incidents in the area for harmonious living and business to thrive.
