Minority Caucus request emergency recall of parliament

Afenyo Markins

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minority Caucus in parliament has written to the RT. Hon. Alban Bagbin for an emergency recall of parliament.

The recall comes after the speaker of the house adjourned sitting indefinitely on Tuesday October 22, 2024.

The minority Caucus highlighted some important government business that must be worked on and approved by the House. The NPP MPs referred to themselves as the majority Caucus though parliamentary hansards on Tueday captured them as the minority caucus. The suspension of the House indefinitely follows an injunction seeking a stay of execution on a declaration made by the Speaker.

The Speaker on October 17, declared four seat vacant in line with article 97 (g) and (h).
