A military man has been shot dead at Kasoa following a dispute over land ownership. The incident took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

According to reports, the military man acquired a piece of land at Millenium City, Kasoa in the Central Region. After acquiring the land, he attempted to develop it but faced resistance from an individual known as Fiifi.

As a result of the resistance, the military man reported the case at the Millennium City District Police Command, Kasoa hoping to resolve the matter amicably. However, the case could not be resolved as the Fiifi continued to resist attempts by the military man to work on the land.

According to the reports, the military man returned to the land and met the group led by Fiifi again. He then requested that they go to the Police Station to resolve the issue but that was not heeded. The military man and his two friends then returned to the Police Station to follow up on their earlier report.

At the police station, they were informed by an officer that the case had been forwarded to the Central East Regional Police Command. The military officer and his friends then decided to follow up at the Eastern Command.

However, on their way, they were met by one BenLord Ababio aka Nana Ben, a sub-chief, who ordered them to stop following the case. The military officer and his friends refused, triggering Nana Ben to open fire at the Toyota  RAV4 car with registration number GR 3591-24 in which the three were travelling. He killed the military man instantly while his two friends narrowly escaped.

Kofi Asmah, the man said to be the owner of the construction company at the centre of the dispute alleged that the Police often collude with land guards to cause trouble. His allegations point to a lapse in the system where corruption and disregard for order may be perpetrated by people tasked with ensuring law and order.
