Mensah Thompson writes: NPP’s Buabeng Asamoah’s Letter to New York Times; A Clear Case of Political Suicide

With all due respect, the level of Political intolerance under this regime has gotten to frightening levels and its not funny anymore…

It is not only a case of escalated cluelessness but also Political cullumny at it’s apogee…

When I saw Buabeng Asamoah’s letter to the New York Times apparently reporting the wife of Kevin Ekow Taylor to her employers( the New York Times), asking them to take sanctions against her because of her husbands purported misdeeds, I chocked on my kelewele, and for a moment I was left speechless.

Suffice to say that among other things, this letter clearly exposes the level of cluelessness of Buabeng Asamoah and his Political Party and there is no two ways about that.

I have always maintained that it is Buabeng Asamoah who will take the NPP into opposition and this singular act of recklessness by Buabeng Asamoah over confirms that assertion.
How can a lawyer of the caliber of Buabeng Asamoah, with all experience and knowledge he’d acquired over the years, take his Political Party letterhead and without recourse to jurisdiction and foreign diplomacy write a complain to the New York Times not about the perpetrator of a supposed misdeeds but his spouse.

Now what Buabeng Asamoah has done is to trigger the curious attention of the New York Times and by far the international media unto the Country Ghana.
Excuse my language but Buabeng Asamoah as a lawyer was also silly enough to send links of videos of Kevin Taylor to the New York Times to advance his complains against Kevin Taylor’s wife.
In case Buabeng Asamoah doesn’t know the New York Times and by extention the international Media unlike the Ghanaian media (who mostly swallow everything from Politicians hook line and sinker) would want to investigate the claims of Kevin Taylor on those tapes as well and trust me the worst is yet to come.(because eventually they will use those tapes as clues to advance their own private investigations)

So the NPP has ignorantly played themselves into the tentacles of the international media and from now till their bizarre ending in December 2020, I for see severe scrutiny of the Government of Ghana by these ever blazing international press.

Apart from the recklessness of this act of intolerance, this act by Buabeng Asamoah and his ruling NPP could potentially contribute to a sharp drop in Ghana’s human rights and gender parity indices.
In the next rankings i forsee Ghana dropping by several points below it’s regular position.

If you ever thought things has fallen apart, then you haven’t seen anything yet, things are yet to scramble and the NPP would have nobody to blame but the ignorant clueless Buabeng Asamoah who doesn’t look before he leaps.

Finally, I think it is important that we all as Ghanaians condemn this act by the NPP, the women in Ghana must rise up and condemn this, same as the women in the NPP, the wife of Kevin Taylor in such cases is symbolic of all women in Ghana and the question we must all ask ourselves is *”…should a woman suffer for the sins of her husband”?*
When a man commits an “offence”, should the wife be punished for it?

Who would have thought this would ever come from the apostles of rule of law?
The center certainly cannot hold!!
