Man arrested at Kpandai for smuggling unlawful weapon

The Ghana Police Service of Kpandai District, so far, has arrested one person in an attempt to smuggle a gun into the city.

Just about two day’s ago, the Kpandai police patrol team had information that someone was offering a rifle for sale in a Buya, a suburb of Kpandai.

According to the victim, he was returning to Kpandai in search of a buyer since the prospective buyer at Buya failed to show interest.

[ads1]Suspect Mensah Lare aged 24 years appeared with an unregistered motorbike and a search on him revealed a fertilizer bag containing an AK 47 rifle No. 2110 with barrel No. 202. He was immediately arrested.

On the spot, an investigation revealed that one Mr. Yaw a resident of Balai village is in connection with Mensah Lare to find a prospective buyer at Buya.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Jacob Akuaku in charge of the case and copied on Wednesday.

The suspect is since been arrested and will soon be arranged before the court.

The police command reminded the public of their emergency lines are active and any person with information may call the Police on 191 (all networks) or 18555 (MTN and Vodafone).
