Make Krachi West the capital for Oti region – NDC MP

Member of Parliament MP for Krachi West, Adwoa Ntoso has appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to consider citing the Region Capital for the proposed Oti Region in Krachi West.

According to her, Krachi West is the oldest District in Volta North which gave birth to Krachi East and Nkwanta South Municipal and Krachi Nchumuru, and Nkwanta North District.

She added that Krachi West have all what it takes to host a regional [ads1]capital.

She disclosed this during a rally organized by the Joint Consultative Committee of Oti movement in Kete- Krachi on Friday, June 22, 2018.

In an interview with the media, Adwoa Ntoso, made it known that if their request for the regional capital is not granted, then the people of Krachi West will show their displeasure by organizing demonstrating against the President.

As part of the developmental projects implement by Ntoso in the District, she has also awarded a contract of the construction of 26 kilometres road from Chantai through Dobeso, Yaaben, Kotokori and other seven (7) farming and fishing communities where was is no access road than using the Volta Lake at the cost Gh¢ 200.000 from the MP’s Common Fund.

The project is expected to be completed within the next weeks.

According to her, she believes the construction of the road will crimp down accidents on the lake where’s the people there can also have access to quality and emergency health care in the District capital whenever they are sick and it will also increase the District Assembly’s revenue since the farmers and fishermen can easily transport their goods to the market by road.

In an interaction with some of the people leaving in the communities, they were all happy about the MP’s decision, one of the women told the media that sometimes pregnant women who are in labour and children passes away on the lake while going to the District hospital because of the uses of the boat through the river which courses much delay. They therefore, thanks to the MP for her effort.
