The latest opinion poll by Global InfoAnalytics for the 2024 elections has shown that the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is winning the 2024 elections over the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The opinion poll dated October, 1st 2024 gives Mahama a comfortable lead of 51.1%, while Dr Alhaji Bawumia trails behind with 37.3%. The NPP is said to battle with a lot of voter apathy within the party itself, in this category NPP had 16% of non-voters while NDC had 3%.
On first time voters, Mahama holds 46% whiles Bawumia gunners 38%.
Independent candidates Nana Kwame Bediako pulled 6.2% and Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten accounts for 4.1% with other candidates accounting for 1.3% together.
62% of voters believe the country is heading into destruction, 74% of floating voters falls within this category with 76% supporters of other parties siding with it, the highest is 88% accounting from NDC supporters.
19% of voters who voted for Nana Addo in 2020 have swung their support to Mahama.
The NPP candidate Dr Bawumia support from the Muslim voters has declined by 4% since July.
The NDC is leading in 12 regions, while Bawumia leads in four regions the Ashanti, Eastern, Ahafo, and North. The NDC has gained a defluxion in the Greater Accra and Central region with 20% and 37% respectively of NPP 2020 voters.
This significant support for the NDC is as a result of sentiment over the economy, jobs, and education, 70% of voters believes the economy is destroyed, followed by lack of jobs occupying 62% and poor education accounting for 48%.
Meanwhile 64% of NPP supporters still believes feel that the country is heading in the right direction.
