“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; It dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
Above is a powerful hymn By Edward Mote(1797-1874)”
A powerful hymn because I always draw my strength from it whenever am down. It gives me a new hope and a renewed spirit.
Christ is a Solid rock because it was the foundation he built that we Christians are standing on today to pride ourselves that we are his followers. We use his name for miracles and others because we believe how strong that rock is.
Prophet Mohammed is as well seen as a solid rock in the Islamic religion because he is believed to be the founder of the Islamic Religion. He is a solid rock on which the Islamic communities stand because it is his teachings which has become the foundation for the Islamic Religion.
Today in NDC, it is no more a secret that Mahama John is the modern Solid rock on which NDC stands in the upcoming election.
Yes, Chairman Rawlings my uncle did his part as the founder and a solid rock, Prof. Mills double-tracked it and was consolidated Mahama John.
Today every truthful NDC member will buy the fact without bargaining that Mahama is the face and the solid rock on which the NDC stands currently with the support and bucking foundations laid by Chairman Rawlings and Prof. Mills.
A rock that all the aspirants contesting for the Presidential Primaries today once trust their hope and lean on.
A rock that all the aspirants once drew their inspiration and defended in the 2016 election as the best of all candidates.
A rock that should in case any of those contesting the Primaries wins will ride on his achievements to campaign in 2020.
A rock that the NPP fears so much that when he announced his candidature to contest, the foundation of the NPP got shakened and the flagstaff house became stand still and has to focus their activities on how to destroy the brand Mahama.
A rock that anyone who tries to associate himself with is called sycophant, bootlicker and others, a ploy to scatter people around the rock for erosion, forgetting the Rock is as solid as “Gakpo” You can ask any Eweman nearer to you the meaning of Gakpo. Hahaaa.
A rock that anyone who plans with an agenda to destroy automatically sinks and remain in the mud.
Bugri Naabu, Otiko Gyaba, Agyarko the Mr know all, Nana Addo and his government and recently Hon. Alban Sumani Bagbin who also tried with a full force and got stuck in the mud.
He is blessed to be a solid rock indeed because all other grounds who tries to nail him becomes a sinking sand and remains sunk just as the song writer rightly put it.
What am happy about is the man Mahama is not that arrogant to shift blames about our lost. He has accepted the fact that he led the team to lose the election and losing does not mean one cannot rise again. He accepted the fact that he made mistakes as a human, he accepted the fact that he is ready to learn from his mistakes to bring the NDC back on track.
Thank God he has a listening ear to move some of the people around him backwards to create the space for the ordinary party people to have access to him.
He has done it and it’s left with the “giant oak tree” which more than 80% party faithfuls at the grassroot says he is the impediment who prevents fresh air from the grassroot and the party to blow around the Presidency. The grassroot want the “giant oak tree” uprooted completely and are watching closely to see whether there will be change even if the oak tree survives the bullets of anger from the grassroot.
When Mahama JOHN used 3months to campaign, won and appointed all those contesting him today, he was referred to as the best of all, the electric man, the vote attractor.
Today he lost and became the “devil” to those very people who benefited from him with their families. Sometimes I laugh at those social media guys who go about insulting and talking about what they don’t know about about how solid the rock.
These same people will pride themselves with Mahama’s projects as NDC government projects but will boldly blame the 2016 defeat on Mahama and Asuedu Nketia. What an irony!
The time for JM is now to correct his mistakes and bring the party to where he took it from. That is what he is poised to do.
The brand is solid, the rock is unbreakable, the hope of the ordinary Ghanaian is built on nothing else than God, Mahama and the NDC.
2020 is possible not with slogans, not with splitter groups, not with cosmetic campaign launch, not with beautiful women on our campaign train, not with turning campaign into funfair, not with neglecting to oldones who made it happen before, not with video shows and not with some few hijacking the party as their properties, but hardwork, clear message, Youth Empowerment and recognition.
A lesson Mahama John has learnt and is ready to work with to see a victorious NDC come 2020.
