Mahama must not touch Nana Addo’s Rawlings books of condolence – Efo Worlanyo warns

Rawlings

It appears the back and forth between the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President Akufo-Addo led NPP government on the late President Rawlings’ book of condolence will not end any moment soon.

The Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC, Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo is calling on former President John Mahama to boycott what he calls Nana Addo’s Book of Condolence for the late founder of the NDC.

If you can recall following the passing of Former President Rawlings on Thursday, November 12, 2020, the flagbearer of the NDC, John Mahama announced the suspension of all campaign activities while returning to Accra from the Eastern Region on his campaign tour.

On Friday, the former Presider led an NDC delegation to their founder’s house to condole with the immediate family, shortly, a book of condolence was opened at the Accra International Conference Centre for signing.

However, few houses later, the leadership of the NDC has alleged that the State Protocol prevented the leadership of the NDC and former President Mahama from signing the book after President Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Bawumia had signed the book.

Government dined the allegation and yesterday the State Protocol had announced that due to COVID-19 preventive measures, the scheduled of the signing of the book have been drawn and that former President Mahama and former President John Agyekum Kuffour are to sign tomorrow, Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

This announcement, however, seems not to have gone down well with the outspoken NDC youth leader saying “Mourning our founder doesn’t mean we shouldn’t watch our back in the process of giving him a befitting burial which my party the National Democratic Congress is poised to do.”

Explaining why he thinks John Mahama must not touch the book, the said

The evil Nana and his NPP have planned dates back to the ”magic chair” they planted for JDM on independence day in Kumasi. We realised they had a hidden agenda with that chair because the chair was changed and a different one brought to replace it when President Mahama did not turn up for the program with tangible reasons. NPP because furious because John Mahama once again escaped their evil plan. Today they want to use this our founders funeral to hit at President John Dramani Mahama for the last time before the elections.

To him, “No one in Ghana has gotten the answers to why Nana Addo should hijack the book of condolence after signing with his Vice President and denied President Mahama and his team.”

“Why has Nana Addo rescheduled the date for John Dramani Mahama to Monday?

Why is it that he didn’t wait for all of them to start signing the book of condolence from Monday?” – He asked

According to him, “It’s funny to hear a President who has violated all the COVID-19 safety protocols during his campaign to use same as an excuse to prevent President Dramani Mahama from signing our own book of condolence.”

He alleged that “All evidence points to Mac Manu for sending the book of condolence for their spiritual fortification so that when President Mahama touches it there will be an effect on him during the December 7th Election.”

“This is not a joke and President Mahama MUST be prevented from going to sign the evil book Nana Addo has fortified for reasons best known to him and his NPP.

May our founder continue to Rest in Perfect Peace.” –  Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo added
