Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has heaped praise and admiration on former President John Dramani Mahama, describing him as a visionary, transformational, and inspiring nation-builder.
Mr. Ablakwa urged Mr. Mahama to continue restoring Ghanaians’ lost hope and belief.
On Wednesday, Mr. Ablakwa wished the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) a happy birthday on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Happy Birthday to the visionary, transformational, and inspiring nation-builder, H.E. John Dramani Mahama.”
“We greatly value your remarkable mentorship, exemplary sacrifices, and extraordinary leadership. Sir, keep giving us hope and belief in our country. Bountiful blessings.”
Mahama has indicated that he will implement a 24-hour economy policy if elected in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Mahama reiterated that the 24-hour economy idea is to create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed Ghanaian youth.
Speaking to Catholic Bishops in Sunyani on Saturday, November 18, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said, “The 24-hour economy I proposed is for jobs and more jobs.”
Mr. Mahama proposed the ’24 Hour ‘Economy project when he engaged with the officials of the country’s strongest working force union on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the commencement of his engagement with key stakeholders in the forward match to coming to power.
“NDC was left alone as the solitary voice seeking to hold the government accountable and speaking up for the voiceless Ghanaian, and we were often cast out as spoilt brats who were ranting just because we had lost power. Today, the chickens have come home to roost, and we are all affected,” he stated.
