Mahama files complaint at Police CID for Abronye’s arrest

The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has filed a complaint at the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Services against the Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Kwame Boaffoe aka Abronye DC.

In a letter written and signed on behalf of the former President and addressed to the Director General of Police CID, Layer Tony Lithur said Abronye DC on alleged on NET2 TV that the NDC and former President Mahama are plotting to assassinate some NPP officials including himself, Abronye.

Mr. Lithur said, according Abronye, the assassins who will be hired by the NDC will be wearing NPP T-shirts are are task to do the bidding of the former President Mahama.

“On the same programme, Abronye DC stated that former President John Mahama killed President John Evans Atta-Mills.” – the Letter to the CID said

These, the former President said amount to publication of false news as stipulated “Section 208 of Act 29”.

Whiles denying all the allegations, Mr. Mahama said the false news has the potential of threaten the peace of the country.

The former President therefore wants the Police to investigate Abronye DC.
