What Has Mahama Done To You, Mr. Kwame Sefa Kai?

Kwame Sefa Kayi

Dear Kwame,

How are you doing sir, I believe life is treating you well?

[ads1]Happy New year to you as well, hope this year we shall have a better morning show from you.

Sir, this is the second time that I am writing to you, the first time was a plea to you to activate your nationwide network of reporters to report to you in Accra and your listeners how the free SHS was faring. That plea was not heeded to simply because it was coming from a nobody, am not upset, the evidence of how well or bad the haphazardly implemented free SHS is evident for all of us to see.

I am writing to you again on a subject matter not different from the first one this time around with a little twist of personality defence.

Yesterday (Monday, 26th of February 2018), you hosted one of the ministers of education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh aka NAPO on your show.

His presence in your studio was for a single purpose, to attack President Mahama on his call for a stakeholder conference on the *sustainability* of the free SHS over the weekend in Somanya.

You allowed Napo to pour out invectives on John Mahama, someone who you sit on prime time radio and boast about as being your personal friend, you have been telling us that you campaigned for John Mahama to become Veep and later President. Kindly wake up to the smell of the coffee and stop this pathetic dream of yours. If at all you did, then I guess it was with an interest which unfortunately wasn’t met this your nefarious attempts to tarnish his image at the slightest opportunity. Sir, like it or not, take it or leave it, the household name John Mahama has moved beyond just a mere name or brand, it is an equivalent of an institution, one which yours [Kwame Sefa Kayi] comes nowhere close to in the echelons of citizens.

All that he (John Mahama) said was that we need to have a national dialogue on how to make sure the free SHS survives and you and NAPO decided to put him on a chopping board? Is that what you do to a “FRIEND”? I am at a loss, sir.

But wait a minute Sir, is this the first time a citizen is saying that we should have a consultative process of making the Free SHS work? Haven’t we heard different opinion leaders and distinguished personalities in education make same calls? So why pick out John Mahama for this needless attacks?

As recent as Saturday the 10th of February 2018 in Cape Coast during 108th speech and prize giving day of the Wesley Girls High School, Her ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffu, made the same call on both government and parents, when she made that call it was okay, you didn’t call NAPO into your studio to respond to her yet you found it expedient to respond to John Mahama.

I am at a loss as to why you would set up a “FRIEND” for public attack by a Minister who is clearly not on top of his job and is struggling to live up to expectations.

Look Sir, you have demonstrated time and again that you are not a “FRIEND” worthy of “friendship” when it comes to you and John Mahama, what you have done over the period is to betray him and stab him in the back, you are interested in hanging on to his reputation just for your own selfish interest.

The fact is no matter what you do to him, his achievements in the area of education alone is unprecedented, even the Nkrumaists have conceded that indeed John Mahama’s contributions to education in Ghana is unmatched and no amount of baked propaganda can damage it.

If I were you, I would make sure I give value for money to my sponsors by running an issues-based radio show and stop this needles anti-Mahama campaign which will, in the end, yield nought but only dent and expose your already tattered diabolic image.

I will pause here and pray that you do not repeat such unfortunate happenings again, Efo

Sincerely Yours

Dzifa Gunu
