Former President John Dramani Mahama has thanked the NDC in Damongo for voting massively for him during the last NDC Presidential Primaries.
While attending the Gonjaland Youth Association Congress at Damongo on Saturday, the former met with Former Appointees of his government, MP’s, former DCE’s, NDC executives at the NDC office in Damongo and thanked them for working hard for him to get massive votes during the NDC Presidential primaries.
He urged the NDC in the Savanna Region to unite after the impending NDC Savanna Region Executive elections.
The NDC Flagbearer said he was happy about the speeches of the MP for Damongo Hon Adam Mutawakilu Garlus and former Minister of Agriculture under his regime Alhaji Mohammed Muniru for reconciliatory speeches at the NDC meeting. He said Alhaji Muniru has said the MP for Damongo should contest again while the MP called Alhaji Muniru his brother who has always lead the NDC party in whatever they do declaring that “today we have no Garlus and we have no Alhaji Muniru but NDC” to a tumultuous clapping by all gathered. Former President John Mahama as well called on those dividing the two leading personalities in the Damongo Constituency, that is the MP and Alhaji Muniru to stop.
He said the focus of the party should be on the 2020 Presidential elections and not on trivial issues.
