In those moments, our mum taught us one thing: that everything we become in life is up to us and our God. No one is going to come and do anything for us. Worse of all, luck doesn’t exist in our family. That someway somehow you’ll win a lottery or things will just suddenly [ads1]change, no, that too is out of the equation she says. So, again, we have only ourselves and our God to rely on to become whatever we want to be.
In those hard moments, so many people looked at us and concluded that we didn’t have a future. They saw our tomorrow in our today. When my brother and I had to start senior high school at the same time, they laughed and told my parents they could never see us through to the end. They mocked us, called us names and concluded that nothing good could come out of us. Well, they were not God and they’re still not.
Today, to the glory of God, those same people who looked down upon us with disdain are the very people who look up at us in wonder and envy. The future they thought we’d never have, our God has surprised them. Though we are no where close to where we want to be, this is how far the Lord has brought us.
So my dear friend, I don’t know your story neither do I know exactly what you’re going through. But one thing I know for sure is that God can turn anything into something. People may write you off, look down upon you, think you are worthless or forget you exist or that you’re even a human being; but always remember that, your destiny is not tied to the opinion of any human being. Believe in your God and believe in yourself. Dare to do the things they say you can’t do. Dare to be great and by God’s grace, great you will be.
I wish you a great day.
From your friend,
Bismark Tay.
