List of NPP MPs who lost their seats so far

The December 7, 2024 has seen a shocking wave of defeat sweeping through the core of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), given the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) an overwhelming majority in the 9th Parliament of the Republic of Ghana.

  1. Kobina Tahir Hammond, known as K.T. Hammond, is the member of the New Patriotic Party. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Adansi-Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region. He is also the Minister of Trade and Industries. He has lost to NDC’s Godwin Animilorgbadzi
  2. Lydia Seyram Alhassan is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.
  3. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is a Ghanaian lawyer, women’s rights activist, and a politician who has been actively involved in politics and public service. She is the member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency in the Greater Accra Region. She is currently the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation
  4. Mavis Hawa Koomson is a Ghanaian politician and educationist. She is the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency and doubles as the Minister of Special Development Initiatives
  5. Dakoa Newman, MP for OKAIKWEI SOUTH Constituency, Greater Accra Region. Hometown: Akropong /Osu. Party: New Patriotic Party (NPP)
  6. Henry Quartey is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Ayawaso Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party. He served as the Minister for Greater Accra Region.
  7. Samuel Abu Jinapor, is a Ghanaian lawyer and a politician. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party and the Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency
  8. John-Peter Amewu is a Ghanaian politician and current Minister for Railways Development and Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency in the Volta Region. He was Minister of Energy and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
  9. Frank Annoh-Dompreh is a Ghanaian politician and consultant. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party and the incumbent Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
  10. George Mireku Duker is a Ghanaian politician. He is serving as a Deputy Minister at Ghana’s Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources since 2021, and is the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem since 2017. He was elected into parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party
  11. Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Sekondi Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana. He succeeded Papa Owusu-Ankomah, who had been MP for 20 years
  12. Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament and 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, representing the Asante-Akim North Constituency in the Ashanti Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

  13. Prince Hamid Armah is a member of the New Patriotic Party and the Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana. He previously served as the Director General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment
  14. Naana Eyiah is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the New Patriotic Party. She is currently the member of parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region of Ghana. She is currently the Deputy Minister for Interior
  15. Yves Hanson-Nortey is a Ghanaian politician and member of the New Patriotic Party. He represents Tema Central Constituency in the 8th parliament of the 4th Republic in Ghana.
