LGBTQ Rights to hold Accra Lesbian Visibility Festival

The LGBT+ Rights Ghana has announced it will from today Thursday, April 20, 2023, hold its third edition of the Accra Lesbian Visibility Festival in Ghana.

The festival according to the organizers will be “both online and in-person events, and activities for all and for only LBQ persons”.

“This year’s fest is a combination of the greatest components of previous editions, as well as a slew of new and exciting additions.” – An invite to, “Freind/ally” of the LGBTQ community sighted by Awake News says.

According to the email invitation to the members, programme starts today with Twitter Space Talk on “about Wellness in the Midst of Crisis” which will be delivered by “Janice, a UK-based professional and certified trauma psychotherapist”.

The group on its social media pages posted:

“Let’s delve into the factors that contribute to stress and trauma, affecting the mental health of the LGBTIQ+ community, while also exploring strategies to manage them. Discover how group therapy can offer support and learn about its benefits. Don’t miss the opportunity to ask your burning questions in our Q&A session. Copy and tap on link in Bio to access the space.

It is not yet clear the venue for the Accra Lesbian Visibility Festival and how public this event is going to be considering the fact that such activities of the LGBTQ community were stoped by the Ghana Police in the past.

Currently, there is a bill before the Parliament of Ghana that seeks to criminalize LGBT acts and their activities.
