“The nation needs independent voices like yours”, Dr Bawumia told Presbyterian Church ministers during a special church service on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

He stated that Christians owe it a duty to promote the sense of responsibility in the country, particularly in helping to fight corruption and impunity.

The vice president who was speaking as a Special Guest at a church service to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ordination of Rev Kwadwo Owusu-Sarpong of the Adabraka Official Town Presbyterian Church of Ghana, urged religious leaders to use their platforms to propagate the message of peace and unity to maintain the oneness and peace the nation continues to enjoy in spite of the challenges in the country.

He acknowledged the critical role of the Christian Church in general and that of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in particular in partnering government to deliver development to the people, citing such areas as education, agriculture and healthcare.

“Over the years, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has partnered succeeding governments to move the development agenda forward”.
