The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Constituency, Benjamin Ayiku Narteh has supported the Muslim Communities of Ledzokuku with assorted items towards the celebration of the annual Ramadan.
The donation which included; 100 bags of rice, 30 boxes of sunny oil, 20 bags of sugar, 10 cartons of milk, among others was to boost their strength in their on going annual Ramadan fasting.
Presenting the items at a short ceremony organized on Thursday April 15, 2021 at Teshie Anumantu Maxxon, the MP commended the Muslims for remaining steadfast and faithful to Allah.
He also seized the opportunity to entreat them to pray for unity, love and peace since there could be no development without them.
Mr Ayiku Narteh, further tasked the Muslim communities to educate their children not to indulge in violent activities but community development activities and prayed for Allah to guide them against challenges they may face during their fasting.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslims Communities in Ledzokuku, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf Amartei, the Chief Imam of Teshie, extolled the MP and his executives for the kind gesture.
He remarked that, the deed will go a long way to support them and that they will always remember him in their prayers for the good work he is doing in the constituency.
The Teshie Chief Imam prayed for Allah to assist the MP to accomplish all his programs, policies and projects for the constituency.
The 2021 holy month of Ramadan commenced on Tuesday April 13, 2021 after the new moon of Ramadan was sighted in Volta and Eastern Region.
In 30 days, all participants in the fast will stay away from food and water for 12 hours each day as an act of humility before Allah.
The donation is expected to be distributed to all the Muslim communities within the constituency.
