Kweku Baako endorses Mahama’s decision to pay Menzgold customers

The editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide Mr. Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has endorsed the decision by the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress to investigate and retrieve locked up funds of Menzgold customers.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good morning Ghana today, the veteran Journalist described the decision as an excellent and a fantastic approach to addressing the problem. On the show with the national communication director of NDC Sammy Gyamfi, Mr. Baako noted that he is all for retrieving the funds of the customers, but took a swipe at the customers, insisting customers were not vigilant enough as to understand that the business was a scam as similar companies sprang up years ago. He added that people should learn and be insightful. Quick money is not the way to go, at least I expect the public to know these things, he further quizzed.

However in his submission Mr.  Baako also revealed that although he is in support of the decision but is against using government funds to pay the affected customers.

The NDC’ s Communication Director then questioned Mr. Baako on which bases the Nana Akuffo Addo government in collaboration with a private organization would award NAM1 the owner of the company as the “Best Young business personality”, and on what bases did Rebecca Akuffo Addo then seek sponsorship from this same NAM1, not forgotten how he also sponsored the Ghana Premier league and yet government turns around to blame those who invested their money in the company. Drumming house that all these showed NAM1’s business was legitimate and boosted the confidence of Ghanaians.

Having said these, it did not deter nor make Mr. Baako relent, Mr. Baako who is described by many as the Sergio Ramos of president Nana Akuffo Addo insisted Ghanaians should have known better. But he kept to his endorsement and backing of the decision by the opposition flagbearer Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
