A 10-year-old boy on Monday, August 9, 2021 committed suicide by hanging at Atonsu in the Ashanti Region.
The body of the 10-year-old boy was discovered by his elder brother at about 3pm when he returned from work.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Godwin Ahianyo said the brother told the police while lodging a formal complaint that, the boy (name withheld) was found dead in his room with his neck in a noose.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue in Kumasi, for preservation and autopsy.
Meanwhile, ASP Ahianyo has called on residents who have any information about the death of the boy to pass on to the police to assist in ongoing investigations.
