The Krachi West Constituency Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP, have distanced themselves from the attack and subsequent locking of the office of the District Chief Executive, Mr. Douglas Nti by some aggrieved party youth.
The attack which took place on Tuesday May 28th, was followed by a press briefing with the group, in which they accused the DCE of not pursuing the interest of the party in the district and also made an allegation of corruption against him.
Five of the persons believed to have been involved in the manhandling of the DCE, have been arrested some few days ago, to face prosecution.
The Constituency Executives however, have condemned the attack and have assured the general public that, they will take punitive actions against the perpetrators of the act.
In a press release issued by the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Douglas Amanfo and copied to Awake News, the constituency executives noted that the said aggrieved group did not petition the party on their grievances, thus acted in violation of the principles of the party.
The Constituency Executives through the release reassured their continuous support for the victim Mr. Douglas Nti, saying that, ‘the Krachi West Constituency Executives are very comfortable with the President’s choice of a representative.’
They urged the DCE, Mr. Douglas Nti to continue working towards the development of the district without any fear of intimidation.
