Barring any last minute hitches, Goodwin Edudzi Effah, will be confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive, for the Keta Municipal Assembly on Monday, 25th March.
Mr. Effah’s appointment follows the redesignation of Mr. Seth Yormewu, as the District Chief Executive for the newly created Anloga District Assembly.
Mr. Effah’s nomination has since been met with resistance, by some members of the New Patriotic Party in the Keta Constituency, who have petitioned the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, asking for the reversal of his appointment.
The Constituency Organizer, Mr. Elikem Sewordor, has however, predicted an overwhelming endorsement for the nominee from members of the Assembly.
“Our sources who spoke to some Assembly Members, revealed that the nominee will get a hundred per cent approval from the Assembly members,” he said.
“Nonetheless, they are calling on the nominee, not to engage in a divide and rule tactics, but must unite the party and be a father for all”, he added.
The nominee, Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah, a father of two, is a chattered accountant, and has been a bursar at the Keta Senior High School, prior to his nomination.
His nomination, in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Government Act, Act 936, was contained in a statement issued by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, on Wednesday, March 13.
