Kalala Nyamekye Eghan adjudged Outstanding Head Teacher of the Decade 2013-2023 Award

Mr. Kalala Nyamekye Eghan, a headteacher at St. Mary’s Anglican Basic School in Awutu Senya East Municipality was crowned the outstanding head teacher of the Decade 2013 to 2023. The honoured was conferred on him at the 10th Anniversary Stakeholders Durbar in Kasoa Ofaakor M.A community park.

Kalala Nyamekye Eghan received a 50-inch LED TV as a prize for his excellent leadership contribution to the directorate and service in general. Also presented to him were a certificate and plaque of honour.

The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture who is also the Member of Parliament for the area, Hawa Mavis Koomaon and Deputy Minister of Education, Rev Hon. Ntim Fordjour graced the the colourful occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Mavis Hawa Koomson highlighted the role of teachers in nurturing the country’s human resources. She recounted the support systems being provided by her office to enhance teaching and learning in the municipality.

The awards aim to acknowledge and honour teachers’ immense contributions to nurturing the country’s human resources.

Mr Ntim Fordjour, for his part, praised the critical role that the government has played and continues to play in making TVET attractive to students. The Minister said the days of pushing failed students to pursue TVET causes are gone.

He said more brilliant and brighter students have demonstrated interest in pursuing TVET programmes leading to increased enrollment.

Mr Kalala Nyamekye Eghan challenged his colleague teachers to adapt and innovate new ways to teach their students to help them achieve their full potential.
