JUST IN: NPP loses Chairman of Council of Elders C.K Tedam

The longest serving Chairman of the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), C.K. Tedam has passed on.

Family sources say the nonagenarians died Thursday night while asleep at his residence in Accra.

He was a founding member of the NPP.

He became the Chairman of the Party’s Council of elders under the John Kufuor regime when the NPP went in opposition in 2008.

C. K. Tedam first won election to parliament as an independent candidate in 1954.

He stood and won another election to parliament in 1956 on the ticket of the Northern People’s Party, NPP. He also served as a Minister of Local Government during the regime of the Supreme Military Council of Ghana.

He was also a teacher.
