Julen Lopetegui is close to making a return to management following his departure from Wolves in August last year. He has agreed to become West Ham manager at the end of the season though nothing has been signed yet.
David Moyes’s poor run has seen his side win only one of their past nine Premier League games and exited the Europa League in the quarter-finals.
The Hammers were thrashed 5-0 by Chelsea on Sunday pushing them 9th on the league table. Moyes, who will be out of contract in the summer, says talks will not take place until after their final game at Manchester City on 19 May.
Lopetegui is tipped for the job as his previous performance in the Premier League was fascinating after guiding Wolves to safety last season when they were at the bottom of the table before he took over.
