Judiciary Service Lands Sold Under NDC, Not NPP – Lands Minister

Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has refuted claims that the government has sold judicial service lands to cronies.

It can be recalled that the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, recently accused the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government of selling state lands to members of the current administration, including judicial service land in Cantonments.

However, at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, August 14, Mr. Jinapor, who is also the MP for Damongo constituency, refuted the claims made by Mr. Ablakwa.

According to the Minister, the judicial service land referenced by the North Tongu MP, along with other state lands, was sold under the previous John Mahama administration.

“The allegation was that the judicial service land was sold under this Akufo-Addo government…but when these allegations are made, my attitude is very simple; to put together the record, and assemble the facts before we make any decision,” Mr. Jinapor said.

He added, “When the facts were assembled it turned out that the lands were not sold under President Akufo-Addo. On the contrary, the land was sold under President Mahama in 2016.”
