Juapong Youth urges Gov’t to make Planting for Food and Jobs More Accessible

Youth at Juapong in the Volta Region are asking government to make its policy; Planting for Food and jobs more accessible.

Speaking at a donation program under the auspices of Acorn Fun Club in Juapong, Patron of Acorn Fun Club Selase Eric Klu admonished with wmphasis that, if care is not taken, the planting for food and jobs program may end up benefiting only a few.

According to him, if the program is aimed at agricultural transformation across the country, then the youth in Juapong must be made to also benefit under it. Meanwhile, some orphans in Juapong over the weekend, were fed, clothed and given out educational materials for their individual development.

President of Acorn Fun Club, a youth oriented club Wisdom Edem Sokro has asked well to do in society to be more passionate towards the poor. He says this, comes with a lot of benefits to the state. Mr Sokro outlines that, the club cultivates acres of food crops which benefit is given out to society. He therefore asked for support from Non-Governmental Organisations and government to enable them expand their activities.

According to him, acorn Fun Club undertook renovation of Juapong Post office, planting of trees around the Juapong police station and Health centre to serve as wind breaks. Dr. Ewura Adjoa Ahimah Nunoo of SWAN Clinic who talked about Hepatitis advised the youth to go for regular medical check-ups and also desist from unprotected sex.  According to her, these will reduce risks of getting sick and detect potential life-threatening health conditions or diseases early.
