Fenerbahçe reached a verbal agreement with Portuguese manager José Mourinho on a long-term deal.

Reports state the agreement is for two (2) years with the option to extend for a further 12 months.

Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes has confirmed the contract is currently under review and will be signed soon. Mourinho is expected to be unveiled in the coming days.

The Special One was sacked by AS Roma midway through the just-ended season following a string of poor results.

After leaving AS Roma, Jorge Mendes said Jose Mourinho would not lack offers from a top side. He mentioned his recent achievement and noted that the former Inter Milan manager is a winner.

“José was the first coach to win three trophies at Manchester United after the great Sir. Alex Ferguson, with a team that didn’t have the likes of Beckham and the other big players of the past. He returned to Chelsea and won the Premier League. With Tottenham, he was sacked before playing in the Carabao Cup final. With him, Roma won the Conference League after so many years. He is a winner.”

Fenerbahçe finished the season with 99 points, scoring 68 goals with 1 defeat and 6 draws placing them second after Galatasaray who attained 102 points.
