Joe Biden hopeful of future dialogue with Akufo-Addo

The President-elect of the United States of America, Joseph Robinette Biden has said he is hopeful of more engrossing dialogue in the future with President Akufo-Addo.

In a letter replying to President Akufo-Addo’s congratulatory message to him upon winning the US election, Joe Biden said there are common problems facing both countries and their people that make it relevant to strengthen the relationship that exists.

“We look forward to working with you and your government on addressing the common problems facing our countries and our people, I look forward to future dialogue,” the letter said.

Mr. Biden apologized for his delay in response to his felicitations and his inability to speak to Akufo-Addo on phone directly, expounding that he took office at a time the Covid-19 pandemic became dreadful affecting his task ahead.

“Vice President-elect Harris and I will take office at a time of great global challenges from the coronavirus to climate change that transcend borders and require international corporation,”.

Joe Biden defeated incumbent president Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election and is expected to be sworn-in on January 20, two weeks after President Akufo-Addo’s swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2021.
