Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku has reflected on his performance against Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League match, admitting that he could have done more with his dominance over Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Despite City’s 2-0 loss, which left them 20 points behind the league leaders, Doku frequently beat Alexander-Arnold with his speed and dribbling skills.

The Belgian completed 15 dribbles and won 16 duels, both of which were the highest on the pitch, while Alexander-Arnold struggled, losing 12 duels and being dribbled past 12 times.

However, Doku expressed regret over his inability to capitalize on these moments, often failing to make the right pass after beating Alexander-Arnold.

He acknowledged that his final ball could have been better, especially after one instance where he missed a key run from teammate Omar Marmoush.

Doku noted the difficulty of breaking down Liverpool’s defense after they scored early, which made it challenging to find spaces.

Despite his individual performance, Doku’s overall contribution has been inconsistent. In 46 Premier League appearances, he has scored only six goals and recorded 12 assists, with just four assists coming in the 2024/25 season.

Recently linked with a move to Barcelona, Doku’s future at City remains uncertain, though it is unlikely the club will sell him so soon into his five-year contract.
