“Yes, when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says Breaking The 8 Is Possible, is not not just a mere slogan but a strategic plan to win the 2024 by elimination tactics” – this is what one of the NPP Executive told Awake News’ on condition of anonymity.
According to the NPP executive, the plot is to win the 2024 election by disenfranchising many people believe to be member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) across the country and especially in the Volta Region, the stronghold of the NDC.
He revealed that this plan is going to succeed with the help of the officials from the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
The plan according to him:
The visibly troubled NPP executive told Awake News that the National Leadership of the NPP has supplied all branch executives with the Voters Register and they have all been tasked to identify from the register members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and people perceived to be floating voters.
He further explained that they were asked to write special code against each of the identified name. For example, anyone in the register known or identified as NDC supporter or member should have letter “N” written against his or her name, NPP members should be suffixed with the letter “M” – meaning “Member of NPP” and letter “O” for floating voters.
According to him, they are to complete this assignment just after the ongoing Voters Register Exhibition Exercise and return marked register to the NPP Headquarters.
Winning By Elimination Tactics
Now, the real deal is reserved for the national leadership of the NPP and their collaborators at Headquarters of the Electoral Commission of Ghana to ensure that at least 60% of all people with the letter “N” in the Volta Region; 4% in Ashanti Region; 2-3% in other regions have their Polling Stations switched or changed within the same electoral area making them unable to find their names in the register at their original polling stations on the voting day (December 7) despite having seen their names in the register during the Voters Register Exhibition Exercise.
“This is how it will work. Let’s say your name is Kojo [Nyamebekyere] and your original polling station is Bantama LA Primary Polling Station B and you are marked as “N”, on the voting day, your name Kojo [Nyamebekyere] will be printed in the register for Bantama Komfo Anokye Polling Station D….” – He explain.
“Do you now understand the concept?” – he asked
This according to him, on the voting day those people with the letter “N” who many may not find their names in the register will get frustrated and go back home without voting which will to a large extent reduce the votes of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
This is the real meaning of the “It’s Possible”. – he said
When he was asked what motivated him to make this revelations, his simple answer was:
“In fact, how my people [NPP] are governing this country, if we [NPP] should win again; I’m afraid Ghana will be no more” – he said
Smaller Scale of Similar Elimination Tactics in Election 2020 in Hohoe Constituency
If readers can recall, on March 19, 2020, Awake New published a report warning the National Democratic Congress that John Peter Amewu was going to snatch the Hoheo seat from them citing the creation of the Oti Region and caving our the SALL areas from the Hohoe constituency.
Read the except from the Report:
- The Oti Region creation factor
Mr. Peter Amewu is believed to have played a key role in supporting the government programme in the creation of Oti Region. From our analysis, in previous elections, Mr. Peter Amewu’s defeat and or low votes aside NPP-NDC factor, loses significant votes from the Akpafu, Satrokofi, Lekpe and Lolobi Traditional Areas who are now caved out of Hohoe Constituency.
This means there is a higher possibility of Mr. Amewu wrestling “Boot-for-Boot” with the NDC’s parliamentary, Prof. Margaret Kwaku on a level playing field considering the fact that Prof. Kwaku is also contesting for the first and worse of all she hails from Likpe in the now Oti Region. Defiantly, the NDC is going the lose all the NDC votes from the above four traditional areas who always contribute greatly to Mr. Peter Amewu’s defeat.
Peter Amewu may snatch the Hohoe seat from NDC – Awake Election Watch
The strategy was actualized when less than 24hours to the election 2020 in December, the Electoral Commission led by Jean Mensah issued fiat excluding the SALL areas from voting in the parliamentary election hence paving way for the NPP’s John Peter Amewu to win with about 5000 votes margin.
