As former President John Mahama turns 60 today, many took to the various social media platforms to share their best wishes.
Radio stations and television stations across the country joined the celebration playing birthday songs for the former President, showing documentaries of his achievements and reading text messages from their viewers and listeners.
Lauding the former President for the dynamic leadership in office Ghanaians tweeted heartiest birthday wishes to the former President.
On Facebook,many added a favourite Mahama quote to their status update or posted pictures of his projects.
Peace FM an Accra based radio station this morning celebrated the former President’s birthday with special songs including the popular Borborleborbor, Onaapo. Kwabena Kesse and his team read sweet messages from listeners and the team. Radio Gold dedicate 30 minutes of its morning show for the celebration. Sammy Eshun, Peter Bamfo and Boakye released for the first time a special birthday song for the former President. All the TV stations including Metro, TV3, UTV, Agoo, CitiTV sent sweet birthday wishes to the former President. The birthday greetings and wishes started pouring in from midnight.
Some world leaders and political leaders across the divide also took to Twitter to wish Mr Mahama warm birthday compliments.
This is the first time a former President’s birthday has denominated the media space and attracted massive national attention.
Some admirers and supporters of the former President have already declared the day as ‘clean-up’ day across the country with party folks taking part in cleanliness drives, etc.
