Ghana’s contender in the ongoing Accra J5 and J4 tennis tours of the International Tennis Federation has sailed through to the semi-finals.
Samuel Nyamekye secured his qualification to the semi finals by defeating Ange-Kevin Koua from Canada in straight sets of 6-3, 6-1.
With a current ITF Junior world ranking of 1586, Nyamekye began his demolishing exercise with straight set victories over the Swiss Thomas Marthys and another 6-2,6-4 win against Usman Kushimo from Nigeria in the quarter final stage.
As it stands now, Samuel Nyamekye from the Sakumono Tennis Club remains the only Ghanaian standing in the singles category.
The Accra J5 and J4 tennis tours are junior division of the International Tennis Federation(ITF) for tennis players below age 18.
The tournament is organised by the Tennis Foundation Ghana(TFG), under the auspices of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF).
Participants from eleven countries are competing alongside Ghana, as the host nation.
