Police at the Odorkor Divisional Command in Accra have arrested some individuals in possession of grenades.
One of the suspects is believed to be a member of the dreadful terrorist group ISIS, Police sources revealed. They are currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.
The development comes on the back of a warning by security analyst Emmanuel Kwesi Aning that Ghana should be careful about a possible ISIS infiltration.
According to the source on 15/1/18 the Divisional Police Command upon a tip of conducted operation at Agape Down and arrested suspect Abdul Karim aged 30 years, a notorious land guard and armed robber with seven (7) pieces of the hand grenade (bomb). Suspect Abdul Karim led police to Kata Hostel around Nyamekye where his source of supply Ismail Ali Musah, aged 31 a member of (ISIS) Islamic State in Syria, was arrested with Osman Alhassan 33 years a Malian friend.
During interrogation, suspects admitted having sold some arms and ammunition into the Ghanaian community already.
It revealed that efforts underway to extend investigations to stated or mentioned communities for retrieval of such arms and ammunition and arrest of the buyers.
