A group of irate youth from the Upper West Akyem District pounced on the District Chief Executive (DCE), Eugene Sackey at Adeiso in the Eastern Region.
The youth, numbering about 20 assaulted the DCE for destroying a property that belonged to the Assembly.
They accused the DCE of destroying a grader belonging to the Assembly and therefore attempted to beat him.
The youth, in unison, surged at the DCE at a public function at Adeiso, where he had gone to inaugurate a new complex for the District Assembly, plunging the whole event into chaos, in the process.
They accused him of being in bed with the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress.
They reportedly attacked him when he was about to deliver his speech at the function.
