Two suspected armed robbers have been killed while four others have been arrested by the Police for alleged involvement in robberies along the Kintampo-Buipe-Tamale Highway.
A statement by the Police suggests that the suspects are behind the numerous robberies which have been taking place along the Kintampo-Buipe-Tamale Highway, including the recent murder of Syed Taalay Ahmed, a journalist who was working with Muslim TV.
The slain robbers, identified as Hamidu Umaru and Haadu, according to the Police lost their lives after a gun battle with the Police Intelligence and Operational Teams.
The other suspects who have been detained are; Saaju Bukari, Isaad Seidu, Rector Saabi and Ali Amadu.
The Police also retrieved 2 locally manufactured pistols and live cartridges, machetes, bayonets, pepper spray cans and stun guns.
