IMANI Ghana sends ‘love note’ to National Security Council

Franklin Cudjoe of IMANI Ghana has taken his turn to demand the National Security Council (NSC) to furnish Ghanaians with names of all the alleged National Security personnel spotted beating innocent civilians at Bawaleshi, Accra, last Thursday.

The personnel, attired in black over brown khaki trousers and combat boots, stormed Bawaleshi in a Rambo style and beat up innocent citizens without any provocation.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel George Nartey, was not spared some heavy weight blows by a couple of the hoodlums at Bawaleshi, one of the areas in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, where a by-election was held last Thursday.

The thugs, who Brian Acheampong, Minister in-charge of National Security, had categorically stated that they were personnel from his outfit, wielded guns and moved in conspicuous police vehicles and in defence of their violent attack on the civilians, Mr Acheampong said the personnel were deployed to the area for a particular mission.

The Minister’s admission of the act and President Akufo-Addo’s order to the police to investigate the atrocities, perhaps, threw the fingers of Franklin Cudjoe on his keypad to post on his Facebook wall:

“We must be given the names of all the hooded thugs enrolled by the National Security, and those engaged in the thuggish beatings of innocent people”

“They must be made to account immediately and the thuggish unit disbanded.”

For fear of some instability and atrocities in subsequent by-elections or the 2020 general elections, he said: “I want to raise my kids in peace and this is the country of my birth”
