Mr. Franklin Cudjoe the Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, has in a post sighted by Awake News shared a bit of his success story to inspire the youth.
Flashback today in 2001
older photo of a younger FC at 25 years old..when I received news that yours truly was one of five African Essay Winners out of 200 successful global student winners in the International Students Symposium Essay Competition- Thousands apply. Our Essay Theme was ” The New Balance of Power”. My entry essay was on how shifting powers within the European Union would impact politics and economics in Africa. Organisers: University of St. Gallen ( lead organisers) in collaboration with the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations and the National University of Singapore.
17 years later in 2018, in commemorating its 30th anniversary, organisers would select yours truly as one of three global alumni that had impacted his world as a result of how the St. Gallen Symposium made a difference in our lives and recognised before a global audience of buiness leaders and politicians. The other two alumni were Ashwini NV from India and Jagdish Kharel from Nepal.
Steve Forbes gave the keynote speech at the 30th St.Gallen Wings of Excellence Award two years ago. The impact videos made a lasting impression on many and Steve Forbes referred to the work of the three of us in his speech. Steve Forbes later walked up to me and gave me his business card and said “I respect what you do a lot”. He later wrote a humbling letter to me a week after the event in 2018. I share the letter below.
With the help of my global friends in the free market world, colleagues, friends and family, I am grateful for all I have become since 2001 here ( my bio) https://imaniafrica.org/our-leaders/mr-franklin-cudjoe/
God has been good.
So, what is the point of all of these?
I am growing, at 44 years old now ?. I share these stories so you will be inspired or inspire some one else, your child or next of kin to aspire to great things. It is possible! Good morning.
