Kwasi Amoako-Attah, Minister for Roads and Highways, has promised to reconstruct all devastated roads in Upper West Region in the shorted possible time.
He gave the assurance when he, with a team of engineers, inspected the extent of damage last Friday’s reeling devastating rains caused some roads in parts of the region.
Mr Amoako-Attah said, the government would mobilise resources to quickly fix the road to resume brisk business.
The destruction of the roads has cut off communities, thus, making transportation of goods and passengers tasking.
The promising words and visit by the sector Minister should bring relief to Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, Wa Central Member of Parliament (MP), who had earlier gone on his Twitter page to post drone view pictures of the torn roads, saying they needed urgent fixing.
The heavy rains did not spare tearing bridges too.
On Twitter, Mr Pelpuo said: “Upper West Regional Minister and Roads Minister, your expedited action required .This is one of the devastations of the heavy rains and floods in the UW Region…this is on the Nadawli Road.”
