A member of the National Communication Team of the opposition NDC, Elikem Kotoko has taken a swipe at President Akufo-Addo for suggesting that the current SHS students who are about to write the final year WASSCE be called “Akufo-Addo Graduates”.
In the Facebook post sighted by Awake News, the Communicator is suggesting that once the President will wants the upcoming SHS graduates be named after him because they are the first batch of his free SHS policy, then he should equally be ready to accept the general views of Ghanaians that he, President Akufo-Addo imported the COVID-19 from Europe to Ghana and hence the virus must be called “Akufo-Addo Virus”.
“If Nana Addo feels strongly that the SHS graduates be called Akufo-Addo GRADUATES, then he must be bold to accept the view of Ghanaians that he imported covid-19 into Ghana and the virus be called Akufo-Addo VIRUS” – he said
“When a president always decide to turn his covid-19 address/update to the nation as another avenue to slot in his campaign message, expect no new innovative approaches to curb the spread of the deadly virus but a political campaign” – Mr. Kotoko added
The President during his 12th Covid-19 address indicates that government will also absorb the fees associated with the 2020 WASSCE examination.
