Head Coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Otto Addo, has stated that he will consider calling up André Morgan Rami Ayew if the player performs exceptionally at the club level.
Announcing his squad at the Ghana Football Association secretariat, Addo explained that Ayew was not included this time because he is currently without a club. He added that he and his team are focused on building for the future.
When asked why Dede Ayew was omitted from the squad to play the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger, the coach said “Andre Ayew is a good player, but at the moment, he is not here. He doesn’t have a club, but nobody knows the future.”
He stressed that “If he gets a club and performs and scores 20 goals, maybe he can return because we are building something for the future.”
Ghana will play against Angola on September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, and then travel to face Niger on September 9, 2024.
