The member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency and presidential candidate aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyappong, has stated that he will not resign from the NPP but will continue to speak out against maltreatment and expose some practices that make the party unappealing to the Ghanaian people.
“I can still be a part of the NPP and give them missiles after the November 4 primaries,” he said.
Mr. Kennedy urged the party’s leadership to refrain from the machinations that characterized the 26th superdelegates conference, threatening the party with a total showdown if the elections were not conducted in a free and fair manner.
“My supporters have been receiving threatening messages from some party executives both here in Ghana and even in the diaspora.
“I will entreat all of us as members of the party to make sure that whoever emerges as a winner will be on fair ground,” adding that “I will congratulate the winner in that manner.
He made the comments on the New Day Television Show at Takoradi in the Western Region, where another showdown walk was held.
Mr. Agyapong stressed that if the intimidation of his supporters persists, he will give the NPP a total showdown after November 4.
Mr. Agyapong appealed to the NPP delegates to vote massively for him, noting that he is the only candidate who can break the 8-year jinx for the party in the 2024 general elections and also create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth in the country to better their lots in life.
