“I support NO to Oti” – Korsi Senyo joins calls

Peace advocate and civil rights activist, Korsi Senyo has joined calls to vote against the creation of new regions in the country saying splitting of those areas “cannot be a panacea for Development”

In a Facebook past sighted by Awake News, the investigative journalist said the distance from Krachi to Ho to do business cannot be a justification for the creation of the Oti Region as many are being misinformed to believe.

For him, the issues of distance can only become a factor if the people living far north don’t travel a much longer distance to Accra to do business than Krachi to Ho.

“This can only be justified if the people of Sandema, Paga, Wa, Axim, Aflao, Bolga don’t travel a much longer distance to do business in Accra.” – Korsi Senyo said

Mr. Senyo is of the view that “If splitting Volta is what will bring development to the people of the Oti enclave, then we must consider splitting Northern, Brong Ahafo, Western Regions into 10 and Ashanti, Eastern, Central into 5 different regions unless they [the bigger regions] don’t need development.”

“Or better still every Region in Ghana becomes a country on its own, every district becomes a region and every household becomes a district.

#VoteNO2Oti, Don’t be deceived. There are even many district assemblies in this country that are yet to get befitting offices.” – he added

There have been mixed reaction from the public on the creation of five new regions with the splitting of the Volta Region being the most controversial.
