Africa Centre for Peace Building – AFCOPB, established in 2010 is a peace-organization that seeks to develop and promote a sustainable peace in Africa through solving basic problems which would have otherwise acted as agents of [ads1]violent conflicts.
The organization focuses on conflict prevention, youth development, peace education, educational development, promotion of human rights and health, agriculture and poverty reduction.
Who is an online volunteer?
Is any individual that wants to offer her/her services to the organization at no cost to the organization. The person offers to do this online, meaning will not be required to be present or physically at our office. The person basically works to support the organization using emails, social media and or phone call.
This means the person can work with the organization as a volunteer no matter where he/she lives so long as the person has access to a computer or smartphone and the internet.
What will the online volunteer do?
They help in disseminating information from the organization to the public using the internet. Some who will be engaged in administrative issues rather than communication will write letters, proposal etc and send to targeted recipients via emails.
Some of the activities an online volunteer may do is an online campaign, online fundraising, graphic designing, editing, grant and sponsorship proposals in writing.
How will they have access to the organization’s formation to aid their work?
They will be added to an online platform of AFCOPB where contents created by the organization will be posted for onward distribution.
They will be coordinated by an Online Volunteer Coordinators who will be assigned to each team.
What is the benefit of the online volunteer?
They will not be paid but will be given:
- Certificate after completion of duty
- Profile and photo will be posted on www.afcopb.org recognizing them as Online Volunteers
- Have the opportunity to participate free or given preference in our programmes
Teams:
A – Online Journalist: for professional journalists who have help in writing press releases and or news items
B – Fund Raising & Sponsorship Officer: individuals who can help in writing sponsorship letter and raising funds online
C – Publicity and Social Media Officer: individuals who can help in posting our pieces of information online and on social media
D – Creative Designer: individuals who can help in designing our concepts (graphic designing)

Just send a maximum of 2 paragraph of expressing of interest stating the team you will like to join to volunteer@afcopb.org with the subject “Online Volunteer plus the team (A, B, C etc)
