At a meeting with the District Director of Ghana Health Services,, the District Police Commander and some Assembly Members earlier today, April 1, 2020 in his office at Tsito, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Honorable Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency presented Veronica Buckets, Hand Sanitizers, Bottles of Liquid Soap and other PPEs worth over GHc86,000.00 to support the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
In his address, the Honourable MP noted that COVID-19 knows no political colours and is not a respecter of social status. We must all therefore support the fight to stop its spread.
Receiving the items, the District Director of Ghana Health Services, Madam Edith Kpor thanked the MP for his continuous support to her outfit. In her words “this is not the first time the Honourable MP is supporting us. We are grateful to him once again for his support at this crucial time. The items will contribute immensely to our fight to stop the spread of COVID-19.” She used the opportunity to brief the meeting of the directorate’s preparedness to contain any possible outbreak of the virus in the district. According to her, training for front line officers was completed on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 and there is an emergency response team on standby to help them deal with any suspected case. She however appealed to government to make enough PPEs and other required resources available to them as they continue to sacrifice their all to protect lives.
On his part, the District Police Commander described the support as timely and rare of duty bearers in our part of the globe for which reason the Honorable MP must be applauded.
