Ho Central NPP launches women’s wing

The Ho Central constituency under the auspices of the Women Orgarnizer, Doris Dzifa Kaledzi, launched a working women committee – the women’s wing, on Saturday in the regional capital of Ho.

The ceremony which was preceeded with a float through the principal streets of Ho on Friday, and on the theme, “Trumpeting the achievements of the NPP towards election 2020- the role of women”, received a tumultuous patronage from party faithfuls especially, women orgarnizers from the various branches of the constituency.

The women’s wing duly launched on Saturday, has a total membership of about 1000 women, and was tasked to trumpet government policies and work to attract more women on board towards the 2020 general elections.

The constituency women organizer, Miss Kaledzi, supported by the Regional Women Organizer, Mad. Afi Adzagbo noted that, the focus of the party is to push women into leadership roles and empower them to a sustainable livelihood, through government policies that are tailored towards women.

According to Miss Kaledzi, it’s also the role of the women’s wing to defend the party at the grassroot level, in other to push the general public into appreciating government projects and policies especially, the very projects that are beneficial to the people of the Volta region.

“Defend the party by using the achievements of the government wherever they find themselves”.

“We have various groups within the women’s wing. Patriotic educators, market women for NPP, Barracks women, NPP hairdressers association, polling station women organizers etc. All these groups have a defined roles as to bringing more women into the party and empowering women to assume leadership roles”, she noted.

The Regional Women Organizer, Afi Adzagbo reiterated her commitment to bringing the women folks of the party together and championing every possible course to gain maximum support and better livelihood for them.

She added that, the Nana Addo led government is delivering on it’s campaign promises and the mandate of the people.

“I admit times are hard but we have to appreciate what the Nana Addo government has done so far, in the past two years.”

“The Free SHS, NABCO, Planting for food and jobs, improvement on maternal health care and many other policies are there and I am confident to say that the government of the day is on course”.

The Regional Minister, Dr. Yao Archibald Letsa, who attended the event, declared his unflinching support for the women’s wing.

The ceremony was equally graced by the Regional Chairman, the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nelson Kwesi Akorli, Hon. Kofi Makafui Wornya, the Regional Orgernizer, Emmanuel Bodja, and other key members of the leadership of the party in the region.
