Gwendolyn Myers in Tanzania for Africa Leadership Forum

Under the invitation of the H.E Benjamin Mkapa, former President of Tanzania, Liberia’s peace and human rights advocate, Ms. Gwendolyn Myers is Tanzania for the 2018 Africa Leadership Forum on “Africa in the Global Peace and Security Architecture – Overcoming gridlocks to peace”.

The 2018 Forum which will focus a discussion on peace and security situations in Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia is a follow-up discussion on an earlier forum converged August last year in South Africa co-hosted by H.E Benjamin Mkapa and Thabo Mbeki.

[ads1]The 2017 African Leadership Forum focused on “What are the issues and circumstances that hinder peace and security and what needs to be done to curb them for sustained peace and security?” and one of the key messages that came out of the event was a continues discussion on “Africa in the Global Peace and Security Architecture”.

Ms. Gwendolyn Myers is expected to make a strong case for how the youth in DR Congo, Somalia and Africa as a whole can be empowered to contribute significantly to the peace and security on the continent.

Ms. Myers is the Founder and Executive Director of Messengers of Peace-Liberia and a global peace and rights advocate.

The African Leadership Forum (ALF) is Africa’s dedicated space for open and frank discussion about the challenges facing the continent, by the continent. It is organized by the Office of the Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Benjamin W. Mkapa in conjunction with the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute).
