Tijaniya-Faida is believed to have over 200 million followers across the globe and Ghana is one of the African countries with a significant number in the Sufi school of thought. It’s founder is Sheikh Ahmed Tijani and was succeeded in the 20th century by Sheikh Ibrahim Niasse, a Senegalese scholar. This school of thought (Sufism), organizes annual celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S) to eulogise the prophet and read ‘seera’ of the prophet.
