Prof Godfred Alufar Bokpin, a Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School has recounted why a lot of university graduates in the country are unemployed.
According to the Economist and Professor of Finance, a lot of university graduates are unemployed because of the nature of courses they read and its relatability to solving real life problems.
In an interview on Joy Fm, he said; “The easiest way to become unemployed today is to go to the university. Because the unemployment is high among university graduates between 22-29 years. They are spending their productive time and youth looking for jobs that do not exist even if they study employment in the university. These are the issues that I believe should engage our attention. We can do far better”.
Prof Godfred A. Bokpin, therefore, called on stakeholders to pay attention to the rising rate of unemployment.
